About PRAYER over TRAUMA (POT)
PRAYER over TRAUMA (POT) is a space of steady, quiet support for women who are carrying the weight of trauma, including those who are currently or formerly incarcerated. We honor your story, your faith, and your humanity. You do not have to explain or defend your past to be welcomed here.
Our work grows out of a simple belief: prayer can be a shelter in the middle of hard realities. We offer compassionate listening, prayer, and practical resources without judgment. Whether you are facing another night inside, preparing to re-enter your community, or walking alongside someone you love who is incarcerated, POT is here to sit with you in that space.
Who We Support
We primarily walk with:
- Women who are currently incarcerated and seeking spiritual support.
- Women rebuilding life after incarceration, carrying visible and invisible scars.
- Families, friends, and advocates who want to understand PRAYER over TRAUMA and how to support a loved one.
Wherever you find yourself in this journey, you are not alone here. You are not a case number, a file, or a label. You are a whole person, and your pain, questions, and hopes are taken seriously.
Support Without Judgment
Support Without Judgment means you can bring your full, honest self. You do not have to get the words "right". You do not have to have a neat ending to your story. We listen, we pray when invited, and we hold space for the complicated mix of grief, anger, relief, numbness, and hope that can come with trauma and incarceration.
We do not offer legal advice, and we do not make promises we cannot keep. What we do offer is consistent, gentle presence and a reminder that you are still worthy of care.
Founder Introduction
My name is Kristie Mallow, and I am the founder of TEXAS POT MAMA and PRAYER over TRAUMA (POT). Over the years, I have watched Texas laws and court processes leave many women facing heartbreaking decisions, serious accusations, and sudden losses, often without their families fully aware of what is happening or able to offer steady support.
In my experience, women can find themselves accused of or charged with domestic violence, child endangerment, harassment, trespassing, or other offenses during relationship conflicts and custody disputes. These situations often unfold while a woman is already carrying deep emotional, spiritual, and practical burdens. PRAYER over TRAUMA (POT) was created as a place where your story can be heard with respect, where your faith is honored, and where you are not reduced to the worst thing you have been accused or convicted of.
I aim to hear from any woman with a need. That includes women who are currently or formerly incarcerated, women in the middle of painful relationship or custody struggles, and those trying to hold their families together under pressure. Through PRAYER over TRAUMA (POT), I offer encouragement, connection, information, and access to resources without judgment. I cannot promise outcomes or change the legal system, but I can stand with you in prayer, listen carefully, and help you explore possible paths forward.
Important note: No donations are accepted directly from incarcerated women.
Confidentiality and Safety
Conversations and messages with PRAYER over TRAUMA (POT) are treated with care and respect. I aim to keep what you share as private as possible, and I do not share your story lightly. However, no service can guarantee absolute privacy. In some situations, information may need to be shared if required by law or if there is an immediate concern for your safety or the safety of someone else. I do not give legal advice or make legal promises about confidentiality.
Services and Limitations
